1243 Pounds of Apparel Donated!

by Susan Ritchie on March 25, 2010

The 2010 Do Duds Apparel Drive held March 18-20 during the NNEP 2010 – Columbus embroidery conference and trade show was a smashing success!  1243 Pounds of NEW clothing, bags and baby banklets were collected and immediately distributed to Women’s Shelters in 9 locations across the United States.

Nearly half of the goods collected were Lil’ Rookies baby blankets, donated by Komet Creations.  These cuddly little blankets/plush sports characters will surely brighten the day of every child that receives one when they arrive at a domestic violence shelter.

It is amazing to see how everyone doing a little bit (and some doing quite a lot) can really add up to making a HUGE difference.

Way to go everyone!

Thank you Susan for the update. How wonderful when we all pull together what we can accomplish!
Everyone else can save with me. Over the year I collect the extra mini-bottles of shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. I get from hotel stays to bring to the Garage Sale for Doo Duds. Imagine how good the ladies and children will feel getting their own personal toiletries when they arrive at the shelter. When I am at the hotels, I seem to always “need” an extra days supply of goodies! :-} Just a thought…..
