It can be challenging to come up with effective ways to display embroidery-ready apparel and products in attractive and affordable ways. When displays are done well, they can make quite an impact on your customers!
I was shopping (nothing like a bit of retail therapy to make this long winter bearable…) and I was struck by the simplicity yet effectiveness of this purse display. It was at a national brand shoe store, and that made the display even more interesting to me. A shoe store – not a purse store… NNEP members, take note!
What struck me about this display:
1) They were showcasing a product line that is NOT what they are known for… in fact, I never knew they carried purses until this display… now I am not likely to forget it!
2) The display was so simple! Empty picture frames, painted in a monochromatic color palette, and clean, classic hardware. Granted, the lighting was key to really making this wall stand out. I did experience a bit of track lighting envy, I will admit…
3) The products they displayed worked well together. None of the bags over-powered any of the other bags. They all well worked together, creating a cohesive display, a visual “chorus” instead of completing soloists, if you will. And the one yellow bag was a well placed accent, adding that visual “pop” to the overall impact of the display. It was smaller, yet the color was stronger. If that bag was larger, the overall impact may not have created such a pleasing visual balance.
What might you be able to do with this concept as a starting point for a display in your business? It depends on what materials you have, how much space you have, and what products you want to feature. What do you want to showcase, so that your customers become aware that you offer it? Use this display and the concepts presented as a jumping off point for your space and your business.
Send us a photo of your display and we may post it here as a follow up!

Thank you for the descriptive article on the display you experienced, however; I am a very visual person so the picture was a terrific help to me. I can only imagine the undercover work to snap the photo!
Thank you for all you do for us!
