Embroidery Mart-EAST this week in Nashville

by Jennifer Cox on August 16, 2010

We are loading up and taking the NNEP on the road, to host Embroidery Mart-EAST in Nashville this week.

It is so fun to host these embroidery trade shows. We enjoy seeing so many friends at these events and meeting new folks. Many of the exhibitors feel like family, as we see them throughout the year at our NNEP trade shows as well as at other industry shows. Many of the attendees feel like family, as we see you year after year at these events.

Embroidery Mart is like “old home” week for us here at the NNEP. In fact, one attendee described our NNEP trade shows as “the family reunion I like to go to, not just have to go to…”

Come join the family, and see how much energy you can add to your business by coming together with literally hundred’s of like-minded business owners. You will head back to your business with new ideas, new products, new energy, new excitement… All of which will put you well ahead of your competition.

We are saving a seat for you!

PS – We uploaded a bunch of images from the show last week, Embroidery Mart-SOUTH in Houston HERE.

I was VERY disappointed with this show. Might as well have set fire to $40. Not all vendors listed were there. This show was about 1/2 the size it was 2 years ago. I covered the entire showroom in less than 30 minutes. When leaving I asked the girl at the door where to voice a complaint.. she said “let me guess about the show? You and everyone else mam’ I’m with the convention center, you’ll have to see the desk.” We asked for a refund but were told if they did that everyone would want one… Ya Think???? What a rip off. Brother – no there, Gunold – not there – Melco – not there… seems like they were the smart ones.

Lydia – WOW – This really caught us by surprise. Your response is unique, and one we had not heard! We are confused when you say not all vendors listed were there? We add exhibitors to the website as their contracts are received, so no exhibitor is listed until we receive their contract to exhibit. Melco and Gunold were never on the list, as they never submitted contracts. We too wish they had participated in the trade show. Please let them (and any other vendors you were hoping to see) know that you attended with the intention of seeing them at Embroidery Mart. Brother/PAS was in Booth #117 – perhaps you missed them?
Sincerely,

EnMart has exhibited at all the NNEP shows for the last two years. We’ve had great success at every show and saw a lot of interested and happy people. I like the size of the show because it allows you to talk to people one on one and be able to answer questions more in depth.

There are bigger shows, but I’d have to question if there are more useful shows. Particularly for those who are trying to determine what equipment is right for them, a smaller, more intimate show is a great way to learn and figure out how to grow.

As for the vendors that weren’t there, you’re always going to get a few vendors that are loyal to certain shows. EnMart, for one, is loyal to NNEP, and we’ve dropped some of our other shows so we could exhibit with the NNEP. It’s been a very successful and positive way to grow our business and spread the word about EnMart. Jenni, Arch, Susan and all the staff treat their exhibitors well, and EnMart has always had a very positive experience when we exhibit.

Just wanted to add an addendum to my previous comment, in the form of a blog post. You can see the post here: http://blog.myenmart.com/?p=1283

This message is for all of the NNEP staff and to the comment above from Lydia. I had a wonderful time at the show and I want to let all know it. If Lydia walked the show in 30 minutes it is because she didn’t look at anything, talk to anyone and basically wasted her own time. The best thing about a show like this is that all of the vendors can spend quality time talking, teaching and selling their products. I spent almost 2 hours with the Brother reps, booth 117 looking to buy one of their GT782 dtg printers. If you spent more time looking instead of complaining then maybe you would have gotten your money’s worth. Also I wanted to say to Jenni and staff that I went to the seminar that Les Tandler from Game gave on ANSI and I learned more about this subject in a 1/2 hour than I have in the last 6 months. It was also good seeing everyone and for your reference I will always come to Nashville as the show might be small… But, it has quality vendors and quality people with time to talk to customers. Go to ISS and see the much bigger show and then experience the couple of minutes they spend with you after you waited 15 minutes for them or came back numerous times. Lydia I have to apologize to you, any one who picks on the staff of NNEP or anything they do puts themselves in a bad place with me. I have been a member for 11 years and I would not be in this business if it wasn’t for their expertise and support.
And as Forrest Gump would say…

And that’s all I have to say about that!
